The Rabbi and the Talking Dog
Rabbi Goldstein was walking through the park when he noticed a man sitting on a bench playing checkers with a Golden Retriever. The Rabbi rubbed his eyes in disbelief as the dog moved a piece with its paw, jumping two of the man’s checkers.
"Incredible!" the Rabbi shouted, rushing over to the bench. "I have never seen anything like this in all my years! You have the most brilliant dog in the world. He belongs in a museum, or perhaps he should be leading a congregation!"
The man looked up at the Rabbi, looked back at the board, and sighed heavily. He didn't seem impressed at all. "I don't know, Rabbi," the man muttered, shaking his head. "He’s really not that smart. To be honest, he’s a bit of a disappointment."
The Rabbi was nearly speechless. "A disappointment? The dog is playing a complex game of strategy! He just took two of your pieces!"
"Yeah, I know," the man replied, leaning back and crossing his arms. "But this is the third game we've played today, and he hasn't won a single one yet."
