The Cat Door Mystery
My cat has one hobby: the door.
All day long, he sits by it and meows like it’s a life-or-death situation.
So I open it.
He walks out… pauses… looks around like he’s inspecting the neighborhood… then immediately wants back in.
Five minutes later, same thing.
Out. In. Out. In.
After the tenth time, I said, “Make up your mind!”
He just stared at me like I was the problem.
By hour two, I gave up and decided to just leave the door slightly open.
Problem solved, right?
Wrong.
He walks up to the door… looks at the gap… and just sits there.
Meowing.
I said, “It’s open!”
He keeps meowing.
I open it wider.
He walks through, stops, turns around… and meows to come back in.
That’s when it hit me.
He doesn’t want to go outside.
He wants to operate the door.
Apparently, I’m not the owner.
I’m the doorman with terrible response time.
